A Mindful PAUSE

   Press the Pause Button   

      P – pay attention, what is going on right now? (note feelings or sensations in the body, emotions, or thoughts that are charging the sensations or emotions)

     A – accept what is happening right now.  (without judgment)

     U – understand where is this coming from.  (are there external factors triggering this, is it coming  from me?)

    S – sense kindness, bring kindness to myself and the situation.

     E – explore, what is best needed for me and the situation right now?

I have learned to pause in life whenever something feels amiss, whether in my body, thoughts, or emotions.  For so long I thought I had to deal with what came at me right away.  Learning to take a pause and catch my breath feels as if it has saved my life, a little dramatic, I know.  But it has saved my sanity and created more responding and wise decisions rather than reacting.
